Climate migration, fires, Covid changing peoples pursuit of happiness, projected 10,000 more individuals in next 8 years…important to know all the factors… not just students and travel….competition drives price in rentals. Development is needed to help balance that out. More funding should be directed towards development…

I'm still stuck on no new units have been built since the early 80s.. why has there been no new construction or buying housing since then?
Chant'e Marie Catt-Nesser
02:01:17
Rosemary, this is true in general housing pop too. Not just public housing… just recently projects have bumped up. And ADA compliance is almost unheard of. With little support to constituents who are discriminated against and in need.
Chant'e Marie Catt-Nesser
02:02:19
Housing vouchers are great, if there is housing. We don’t have housing… what then?

02:05:59
Will have to engage landlords and home owners to want to participate . Also with rent limits make it limited on units available
Rebecca Smith (she/her) LSNC
02:06:52
Clarification: Would the voucher would be given to the family that was in the public housing unit it replaces?

Sorry to be trouble, but, what do you mean by upgrade?
Elena B (She/Her)
02:13:21
Thanks!
Rebecca Smith (she/her) LSNC
02:13:45
Elena, I had the same question. Still unclear.
Maggie Kraft
02:14:44
does it mean renovate existing, build more, build back better (sorry).
Kay Serotta
02:15:29
I think that upgrade is still being defined but it generally means to make the housing better than it currently is
Rebecca Smith (she/her) LSNC
02:16:25
What comes to mind when I hear "upgrade" in terms of housing at times seems to refer to things like getting rid of "problem tenants" or upgrading and then increasing rents etc. so I may have answered incorrectly.

02:18:22
I would love to see larger businesses in our area start to recognize housing as an issue for their employees. Travelers for our health care services have taken a lot of housing from ongoing residents and increased costs for people who don't make those traveler wages
Maggie Kraft
02:19:14
interesting that more people want to help low income than extremely low income or homeless. I would love to better understand that difference
Elena B (She/Her)
02:56:01
Is the powerpoint going to be up with the meeting summary?
Elena B (She/Her)
02:56:42
Some of the charts were difficult to read on the screen share. Please put them up seperately if possible. :)
